“Years of talk therapy helped me understand my feelings, but nothing really changed. DBT finally gave me the skills to change how I respond.”

We help you develop lasting emotional balance by deepening your self-understanding, building practical skills, and strengthening the internal and external supports that sustain long-term wellness.

Whether you're navigating chronic emotional dysregulation, stressful life transitions, or long-standing relationship patterns, we offer an integrative, evidence-based approach grounded in DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic insight, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Our goal is to help you increase your capacity for joy, connection, and engagement in your daily life.

HOW Therapy WORKS

PSC’s therapy model integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with mindfulness, insight-oriented work, and structured skill-building. Here’s what this looks like in practice:

Holistic and Mindfulness-Based Psychiatry

Mindfulness is foundational to the way we practice. Our clinicians incorporate evidence-based mindfulness approaches to help you develop present-moment awareness, nonjudgmental self-observation, and emotional steadiness. Mindfulness is not simply a technique — it is a way of relating to your experience with clarity, compassion, and choice.

By integrating medications when appropriate with psychotherapy and mindful awareness practices, we help you strengthen the habits and routines that support mental health over time. This holistic approach brings together emotional insight, behavioral change, and body-based wellness strategies to create sustainable transformation.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is one of the core modalities at PSC. Rooted in the balance of acceptance and change, DBT helps individuals understand and regulate emotions, tolerate distress safely, and navigate relationships more effectively.

DBT at PSC includes work in the four core skill areas:

  • Mindfulness: staying present and grounded

  • Distress Tolerance: navigating crises without escalation

  • Emotion Regulation: reducing vulnerability to overwhelming emotions

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: communicating needs with clarity and respect

DBT is structured, practical, and supportive — ideal for individuals experiencing chronic emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, or interpersonal difficulties.

Focused DBT Skills Group (Online)

Our live, online transdiagnostic DBT Group conducted via secure video offers a structured, skills-focused environment for adults seeking practical tools for emotional balance. This group brings together people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma recovery, ADHD, or difficulty managing emotions — and teaches how DBT principles can be applied to everyday challenges.

Participants learn skills for:

  • Grounding and slowing reactivity

  • Managing overwhelming emotions

  • Improving communication and boundaries

  • Increasing resilience and focus

The virtual format creates accessibility while maintaining a compassionate, supportive environment.

Community Mindfulness Group

PSC also offers free quarterly online mindfulness groups for current and prospective patients. These 45-minute practices help you cultivate calm attentiveness, compassion toward yourself, and greater awareness of habitual reactions. Mindfulness can be a powerful anchor — especially during transitions, stress, or periods of emotional overwhelm.

“It can be helpful to simply notice judgemental thoughts.”
